BIGGEST YES IN HISTORY

In 1969, San Diego voters passed the $6 million bond issue on the November ballot to fund the building of the Wild Animal Park—now known as the San Diego Zoo Safari Park—by a 75.9% “yes” vote. This sort of support was unheard of at the time and was an exciting step forward for wildlife conservation.
